WASHINGTON, D.C. — Speaker Mike Johnson released the following statement on the vice presidential debate between Senator JD Vance and Governor Tim Walz:
"Tonight, America saw a clear contrast between the failed, radical polices of Kamala Harris that have made our lives worse, and Donald Trump’s common sense, successful America First policies that improved our lives.
"We already know at least part of what Harris and Walz would do to America because she’s the sitting Vice President right now. The American people cannot afford four more years of Kamala and her new, radical, economy-crushing ideas.
"Tonight proved again that Harris and Walz are the most radical, left-wing ticket in history. Americans want affordable gas and groceries, a secure border, safe communities, and peace around the world. We don’t have that now, but we did under Donald Trump and will once again.
"Senator JD Vance won this debate hands down, because he had answers, solutions, and polices that would help restore the American Dream for all. That restoration will start when we elect President Trump and grow our House majority."
