Speaker Johnson on the Presidential Debate:"President Trump will deliver a secure border, the best economy in history, and peace through strength"

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Speaker Mike Johnson released the following statement on the presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris:

"Tonight, President Donald Trump exposed Vice President Kamala Harris for the dangerous radical she has always been. From overseeing an open border, record-high costs, the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, and wars around the world over the past 3 and a half years, to backing left-wing ideas including taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries for illegal migrants, there is no question why Harris has refused to hold a press conference or answer tough questions since assuming the Democrat's nomination.

"While Harris lied about her radical positions and spoke about things she would supposedly do as President, and despite the biased moderators shamelessly covering for Harris, there are two problems that Americans were reminded of in prime-time: she has a lifelong record as a Marxist, and she's the sitting Vice President who could secure the border and bring down costs today. Yet when Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris both say Harris' values 'have not changed,' we should believe them.

"Tonight once again proved why America desperately needs President Donald Trump back in the White House. He will again deliver a secure border, the best economy in history, and peace through strength. Together with a strengthened Republican House majority, we will make America great again."
